Course overview
East Devon Golf Club is one of Devon’s finest golf courses. A heathland course situated on the cliffs above Lyme Bay, within easy reach of Exeter and the M5. East Devon Golf Club is serenely located within the East Devon area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, overlooking the stunning beaches of Sandy Bay and only a short drive from Exeter. The course itself is regarded by many to be one of the finest in the South West and is immaculately kept cliff top course with narrow fairways, fast greens and a sometimes challenging sea breeze blowing in from the channel.
The front 9 has some what of a parkland feel to a number of the holes, however the ever presence of gorse either side of most fairways reminds you of its under lying heathland and even links like nature. If you feel the need to brush up on any aspect of your game before you head out onto the course, East Devon offers state-of-the-art practice facilities with the Academy Course for your long game. There are also mid-iron and short game practice areas available, you can make sure you are completely prepared for the challenges that lie ahead atop the cliffs of this stunning location.
The clubhouse is ideally located to give spectacular views of the 18th hole and out to sea, giving you the opportunity to have a post round beer with quite the view! East Devon is ranked at 74th position in the England top 100 golf courses and is a must play if you are in the area. We recommend looking at our Topsham golf tour which takes in the very best of Exeter golf. East Devon is also an ideal stop off if you are heading further south, just a 10 minute detour from the M5 at Exeter.
