Course overview
The only true links course in the area. In fact, the only true links on the south coast between Rye in East Sussex and Mullion in Cornwall.
Hayling Golf Club is a breathtaking course situated on the Hampshire coast just to the East of Portsmouth on Hayling Island. The pictures of this beautiful golf course tell the story more than words can, but we’ll try!
This Championship Links has played host to a number of big events over the years, including the Woman’s Amateur on 4 occasions, and it’s no surprise as to why.
Into it’s 15th decade having opened for play in 1883, the course is a traditional links, running out to around 6,500 yards with some truly unforgettable holes. In typical links fashion the course displays fast fairways, fine greens and year round playability complimented by spectacular sea views of the Solent and Langstone Harbour. Redesigned in 1905 by the famous J.H. Taylor, the course finds its way comfortably into the top 100 in England and is a must play if visiting the area.
Whilst a private members club, visitors are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy both the course and off-course facilities including the stunning art-deco clubhouse which houses the bar and restaurant.
Please note, this is a walking golf course due to the fragile nature of the land. Buggies are available strictly to those with a medical certificate.
Hayling is a fantastic addition to any tour and perhaps one of the South’s hidden gems when it comes to notoriety outside of the area. We really would recommend. Check out our example tours below and send us an enquiry for your next golf tour.
