Long Sutton Golf Club is a privately owned parkland course that opened in 1991 and set on the edge of the levels in the heart of South Somerset. Since new management took over in 2019, the venue has received huge investment, allowing the course to develop and mature into what many consider to be one of the finest courses in the area. The course, designed by Patrick Dawson, measures just over 6300 yards in length and is nestled within 130 acres of mature woodland and rolling Somerset countryside with it’s most distinguishing feature being it’s wide and immaculately kept fairways, often lined each side by beautifully mature woodland. The course has a fantastic reputation for being well kept and playable from tee to green all year round, thanks to the dedicated team of green keeping staff. The course offers golfers a wide variety of challenges by using the natural features of the land, blending the parkland countryside, natural contours and wild foliage to create a course where no two holes should pose the same challenge. All these features create a fantastic course that is playable all times of the year and makes full use of the surrounding countryside to create a challenging round of golf in stunning woodland settings, this course really is a must for anyone visiting the Yeovil area.
