Yelverton is a delightful moorland course that enjoys outstanding views across Dartmoor and over Cornwall, designed by renowned course architect Herbert Fowler, it has hosted many quality competitions including the Mens Senior Amateur Championship. The course features moorland-cum-heathland surroundings with gorse patches lining many of the generous fairways. The wide fairways mean that you can be brave from the tee without worrying too much about hitting major trouble, while the green approaches are quite tight they aren’t the most daunting and once on the green you will challenged by the many natural contours featured throughout the greens.
The course runs a modest 6,300 yards and features a few shorter par-5s that are reachable in 2, as well as a 580 yard par-5 that was once the longest in Devon and a variety of different par 4 and 3 challenges. Yelverton offers an enjoyable round of golf in tranquil Devon surroundings and is a highly recommended visit for anyone in the area.
