Course overview

Enmore Park Golf Club is one of Somerset’s finest parkland courses. From its highest point this course offers extensive views over nearby hills and across the Bristol Channel, and is easily accessible from the M5. The club was formed in 1906 in nearby Cannington. In 1932, the Club moved to its present location in Enmore as a 9 hole course. Then, in 1969, golf course architects Hawtree & Co were engaged to determine the amount of land to be purchased and to design an 18 hole course.

This fabulous championship golf course is a hidden gem of the South West set within the lower slopes of the glorious Quantock Hills. Two loops of nine start and finish at the clubhouse. At par 71 on 6,434 yards for men and 5,683 yards par 73 for ladies, the course offers a challenging test to all standards of golfer and is immensely entertaining.

To add to Enmore’s pristine condition, the course offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Ponds are in play on five of the holes and par 3’s which are set up to test the most accurate of golfers. The long, uphill par 4 10th requires the most accurate of drives to avoid finding the trees, and is one of the most daunting holes in the West Country.

Course overview

Weston Super Mare Golf Club is an all year round golf course. Established in 1892, the course offers a true test of links golf with its rolling fairways and challenging wind conditions. Weston super Mare Golf Club, Somerset is an 18 hole, par 70 (6245 yard), private, links golf course designed by Alistair MacKenzie & Tom Dunne in 1892. The course is an attractive links course situated at the southern end of Weston Bay, with superb views across the Bristol Channel, past Brean Down, Steep Holm and Flat Holm towards Cardiff.

The course is an easy walk, with generous fairways and the wind often playing a decisive role in making a good score. The overall impression when playing the course is of wide horizons and masses of sky. In summer the greens are fast and true; the fairways tight and the rough punishing. In winter the course is rarely closed and is always played off real tees.

Temporary greens are used occasionally when hard frosts prevail. The signature hole is the 15th – a 458 yard par 4 which is reputably modeled on the 17th at St Andrews Old Course, with a blind tee shot and out of bounds down the right, and the green set at an angle to the treacherous bunker at the front corner. It is always satisfying to get a par here! The 15th is also the start of the tough finish; followed by the Par 3 16th into the prevailing wind; the dog leg Par 5 17th and the tricky par 4 18th with out of bounds on the right and back of the green and heavy bunkers to the left, meaning that you are often laying up short in two then hoping for a chip and a putt for your par.

Course overview

Burnham & Berrow Golf Club is a 27-hole members golf club in Somerset that has hosted many of the leading amateur golf tournaments in Britain, including the The Brabazon Trophy and The English Amateur. Part of the Atlantic links network, Burnham houses 27 holes of golf across the par 71 (6925 yard) Championship course and 9 hole, 18 tee Channel Course. The traditional links tracks 9 holes along the coastline and 9 back to the clubhouse. The wind is more than capable of swirling on the links meaning no two rounds are ever the same at this breath taking course.

From the moment you arrive at the clubhouse in the shadow of the Burnham lighthouse its evident you are stepping into a club littered with a vast history of amateur golf. Winners around this great course include famous names such as a Mr J Rose. Somerset is known for the quality of its courses in the area but Burnham and Berrow is widely regarded as head and shoulders above the rest. With many fairways and greens overlooked by sand dunes, Burnham and Berrow is the south west’s answer to Royal Birkdale and is now widely thought to be one of England’s finest links courses in the South West of England. Burnham & Berrow is the most northerly of the Atlantic Links courses and is often played alongside the Saunton golf courses during a tour.

Alternatively, Burnham is ideally located near Weston Super Mare and with an excellent links course in its own right is a great tour combination. Looking for something more bespoke? Fill out the enquiry form below.
