Course overview

The Kendleshire, a relatively new golf course, is widely regarded as one of the best in the Bristol area and south west. After opening its doors in 1997, the club now is home to 27 holes of golf, excellent practice facilities, short course and a modern clubhouse, bar and restaurant. Hollows & Ruffet make up the original 18 hole layout, however, the newer Badminton layout is equally as impressive.

Playing all 27 during your visit is certainly recommended! The club prides itself on its modern approach to golf. You will receive a friendly welcome and certainly none of the stuffiness of golf courses in years gone by. Whilst the club has a large membership, visitors are very much welcomed and looked after during their stay. The club itself is very much set up to deal with small and large society groups alike. The clubhouse and terrace are perfectly set up overlooking the 18th, so you can watch golfers as finish their round.

On the course, The Kendleshire has built a reputation of an incredibly well-kept golf course which peaks in the summer months but is playable all year round. Modern drainage systems allow for fast running greens which are often some of the quickest in the region. The Kendleshire is based in north Bristol and is easily accessible from the M4, M5 or M32. It is therefore best placed as a stopover venue en route further south or on the way back north.

If you are basing yourself in the area it is best tied in with The Players Golf Club, which does have its own accommodation or The Wellington Hotel. Do note that the Hampton by Hiton at Bristol Airport is situated the other side of the city.

Course overview

Bristol & Clifton Golf Club is a regular host of England Golf Events and has earned a reputation as one of the finest courses in the Bristol area. A beautifully mature and undulating parkland course that stretches 6413 yards through the beautiful Somerset countryside and boasts tree-lined fairways and lightning fast greens. The design of the course means that you often find yourself in secluded and tranquil areas surrounded by the woodland, faced with a course that offers a varied challenge that will test golfers of all levels, with a number of doglegging par 5s, short but tricky par 4s and back to back par 3s with tightly bunkered greens. Posting a good score here will require accurate shots as the tree lined fairways and greens will punish any wayward shots and some finesse on the greens as they can be very tricky during the summer months.

In addition to the fantastic golf on the course, Bristol & Clifton Golf Club also boasts a fantastic range of practice facilities, with an undercover driving range, short game area and putting green where you can warm up or hone your skills before and after your round. The clubhouse has a bar & lounge where you can relax and enjoy a local ale or get a lunchtime bite to eat, with al fresco dining options available if the weather suits.

Bristol & Clifton Golf Club offers a fantastic golfing experience so we highly recommend adding this venue to your Bristol golf tour!
