Course overview

The Bristol Golf Club is set in 200-year-old historic parkland and opened for play in 2000. With a strong membership and growing reputation, the club has become well known in the local area and attracts visitors from all over the country due to it’s ideal location next to the M4 and M5.

The course twists and climbs through the parkland terrain with views across the Bristol Channel and the Severn Bridges. This undulating course provides much variety in its design. A good mix of holes which range from short par 3’s over water to dogleg par 5’s and pretty much everything else in between.

Off the course, the clubhouse is an 18th Century, grade II listed building complete with restaurant, bar and function rooms. The excellent practice facilities include a short game area, practice green, driving range and 9 hole par 3 course.

Experts at welcoming visitors, The Bristol will look after you during your stay and is an excellent addition to a Bristol or North Somerset golf tour, particularly if staying in North Bristol at local hotel Mollies or Doubletree by Hilton Bristol North.

Course overview

Filton Golf Club is a long established private members’ club situated in the north of Bristol, close to the Airbus site, the M5, city centre and a number of our ideally located hotels.

This welcoming golf club is set overlooking the old Filton runway which was famously home to Concorde (and still is by way of its museum). The club has practice facilities, clubhouse bar/function rooms and pro shop.

The course is certainly not the longest, however in what space the club does has been very well designed. Changes in elevation, dog legs, water and tight tree-lined fairways come into play on almost every hole making this an enjoyable round.

The course is a great addition to a Bristol tour, particularly if you are staying in the north of the city or even north Somerset.

No visitors on a weekend, visitors are welcome on weekdays, smaller groups only on Friday’s due to member demand

Course overview

The Kendleshire, a relatively new golf course, is widely regarded as one of the best in the Bristol area and south west. After opening its doors in 1997, the club now is home to 27 holes of golf, excellent practice facilities, short course and a modern clubhouse, bar and restaurant. Hollows & Ruffet make up the original 18 hole layout, however, the newer Badminton layout is equally as impressive.

Playing all 27 during your visit is certainly recommended! The club prides itself on its modern approach to golf. You will receive a friendly welcome and certainly none of the stuffiness of golf courses in years gone by. Whilst the club has a large membership, visitors are very much welcomed and looked after during their stay. The club itself is very much set up to deal with small and large society groups alike. The clubhouse and terrace are perfectly set up overlooking the 18th, so you can watch golfers as finish their round.

On the course, The Kendleshire has built a reputation of an incredibly well-kept golf course which peaks in the summer months but is playable all year round. Modern drainage systems allow for fast running greens which are often some of the quickest in the region. The Kendleshire is based in north Bristol and is easily accessible from the M4, M5 or M32. It is therefore best placed as a stopover venue en route further south or on the way back north.

If you are basing yourself in the area it is best tied in with The Players Golf Club, which does have its own accommodation or The Wellington Hotel. Do note that the Hampton by Hiton at Bristol Airport is situated the other side of the city.

The Players Club is a prestigious venue dedicated to the game of golf, boasting two incredible 18-hole courses, a par 3 9-hole course and state of the art practice facilities. Situated on the outskirts of Bristol on the border of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, this amazing venue has become home to many professional events and has been designed and maintained to the highest standard. The Players Club has staged 9 televised Europro events, 7 West Region PGA Championships and 3 English over 48s Championships, as well as regional finals for many top professional and amateur events.

All 3 of the courses have been designed to the highest specifications, boasting USGA greens and immaculate greens that are surrounded by a rich landscape of woodland lakes and gorse. The courses have been designed by Adrian Stiff, responsible for neighbouring courses at Kendleshire and Cumberwell Park. The feature course at The Players is the Codrington, a course designed to test every aspect of your game, and will thrill you with it’s immaculate design and beautiful surroundings. The Stranahan, offers a respite from the more relentless test of the Codrington and is ideal for higher handicappers visiting the venue. On top of the incredible golf on offer at The Players Club, there are state of the art practice facilities that include a 300-yard driving range, short game area and 4 putting greens.   • How do GSW keep money safe?

    We are extremely proud of the service we provide and a large part of this is ensuring our client’s money is safe. Our practices comply with the 2018 package travel directive meaning that your money is safe with both ourselves and the venues your choose to visit.

    The money for your golf break is paid into a trust account run by an independent partner, so you have peace of mind that no matter what happens, your money is being looked after.

  • What happens if we can’t go on our planned trip?

    Deposits are non-refundable, but they are transferable to a new date or break. We aim to be as flexible as possible and will treat each situation on a case by case basis.

  • Can we make changes to our break?

    Managing a group can be a thankless task and changes to the group leading up to your break are an accepted element. We make changes as stress free as possible (just see our reviews for evidence of this!). Changes can be made up to 6 weeks prior to your break. Some changes are unavoidable so for legitimate reasons we will endeavour to make last minute changes after this period, but as we would have paid our venues at this point, this would be at the discretion of the venue(s) you are visiting.

  • How are package prices displayed on our website?

    Prices on our our website are displayed in two ways. The first is on our Resort pages where pricing tables show the from prices for low, mid and high season golf stay and play package rates at golf resort venues.

    The second is on our example tour package pages. There are often 4 prices shown here, two for low season and two for high season. The struck through price typically shows the highest price the tour can be and is often active over weekends in that season. The offer price is typically a mid week price.

    Every tour quote we offer is bespoke and will vary based on a number of factors including the date, availability, group size, room type, time of day for the tee time, etc… Our package pricing is a guide to the cost of the package and is not a firm price. Please enquire for an exact cost.

    We aim to provide as accurate a price as possible and therefore try to avoid using shoulder/mid season pricing or twilight green fee rates when displaying rates. You may find an intermediate price for breaks in months of April & October at certain venues.
