Resort overview

Why book your Point at Polzeath trip with Golf South West?

Set in 230 acres of stunning parkland overlooking Pentire Point and Polzeath Beach, the Point at Polzeath Golf Club is a recently revamped 6300 yard course that is a joy to play for golfers of all standards and was awarded the Cornwall Golf Mark Club for 2015.

With a friendly membership base, new driving range and state of the art Gym and Spa, The Point at Polzeath is the perfect way to escape for the weekend. Much work has been carried out to improve the golf course including new tees, especially forward tees, the addition and removal of several bunkers and the clearing of trees in areas where they interfere with play. Fourteen of the eighteen holes have already seen improvement works.

A new driving range with covered bays is complete to the right of the first hole. Play golf, relax in the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, grab a snack in the bar or for a real treat enjoy delicious food in the restaurant whilst watching golfers on the 9th and 18th greens and the beautiful undulating hills of the Cornish valley leading down to Polzeath beach with the sea and Pentire Point in the distance.

The Point at Polzeath is a recently rebranded and refurbished golf and leisure resort that offers visitors a tranquil setting with modern facilities. In March 2015, The Point opened 7 brand new 3 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments.

The apartments, all named after the shipping forecast, feature private terraces, wood burners and have a contemporary finish with stone floors and bespoke kitchens made by a local crafts man. Built on the site of the old driving range, the apartments offer stunning views and look straight out towards Polzeath and the Ocean beyond.

The Point offers a brand new clubhouse, restaurant, tennis courts, health club, pool and quality 18 holes of golf. The Point at Polzeath is a great base for your golf tour and is situated perfectly for Trevose, St Enodoc and Bowood Park to name a few.

Course overview

Officially the 87th best golf course in the World, 28th in the UK, 11th in England and #1 in Cornwall. St Enodoc Golf Club is a links course of perfection situated on the northern Cornish coast, boasting spectacular views overlooking the River Camel and outwards into the Atlantic Ocean.
The fact you are reading this means you may be interested in a golf break including Cornwall’s golf jewel. Each hole feels unique due to the undulating terrain and tight fairways.

Courage, accuracy and concentration is a must if players want to make a good score. The latter can, however, prove a little tricky as you look out across the stunning Camel Estuary at Padstow and the Atlantic Ocean from your perfectly manicured location.

Based in Rock, the Golf Club is easily accessible from Padstow, Newquay, Bude, Truro, Bodmin, Saltash & Launceston. If you want to play the best of the best during your stay in Cornwall, then St Enodoc is a must!

Course overview

Winner of Golf Monthly Magazines Golf Course Award for the western region, Bowood Park Golf Course is one of the most outstanding of all Cornwall’s parkland golf courses. With 6,735 yards of parkland golf, this par 72 is certainly no pushover.

However, this is a venue that prides itself on maximising the enjoyment of guests and the course is regularly set up in a manner that allows this. The high spec USGA greens mean the course is rarely forced to close its doors or even to utilise temporary greens and tees. Bowood’s excellent layout brings your group back to the clubhouse after 9 and 18 and meanders through woodland and some 26 lakes and ponds. Some wonderful highlights adorn the course as you work your way around this incredibly well-designed track.

Take on the 600 yard 7th before eventually finding the signature 12th, “Azalea”. This par 4 requires accuracy to the fairway with water running all the way down your right-hand side before a targeted approach finds a small and protected island green. As promised the 18th-second shot gives you a view of the clubhouse. This setup allows for a fantastic atmosphere as you watch groups finish their round before retiring to the clubhouse bar.

We make changes as stress free as possible (just see our reviews for evidence of this!). Changes can be made up to 6 weeks prior to your break. Some changes are unavoidable so for legitimate reasons we will endeavour to make last minute changes after this period, but as we would have paid our venues at this point, this would be at the discretion of the venue(s) you are visiting.
