Sandford Golf Break

Overview

A Sandford Golf Break takes you to the Sandford Holiday Park, nestled in beautiful surroundings in South Dorset. To the east lies the historic harbour town of Poole and the bustling seaside town of Bournemouth and to the south the stunning Isle of Purbeck where you will find the eerie ruins of Corffe Castle. The holiday park offers a range of caravans, lodges and chalets to cater for groups of all shapes and sizes, complete with a fantastic range of facilities that include a multi-sports court, virtual reality rides and high ropes courses. The essentials are all covered with an on-site convenience store, launderette and free wi-fi throughout the complex.

There is no shortage of quality golf courses on offer in Dorset, particularly around the Bournemouth area, so for this tour we have chosen what we consider to be 3 of the must visit venues in the region. The first of these is just a short drive through the countryside, The Dorset Golf & Country Club is an excellent golfing venue that boasts 27-holes of championship course. The Lakeland & Parkland are the longest of the 3 9 hole loops and feature water on no less than half of the holes while the Woodland 9 are a little shorter but twists through the Rhododendron Forest, offering a beautiful and unique experience. Broadstone Golf Club is an unspoiled heathland course that sits within the glorious Dorset countryside and is a must visit while you are in the Bournemouth area. The course sits within 250 acres of rolling hills, covered in superb natural heathland, with gorse and pines throughout. Broadstone Golf Club is an 18-hole course filled with holes that are unique and challenging and is considered to be one of the premier heathland courses in the south of England, currently ranked on top100golfcourses.com as the #1 course in Dorset. Recommended for the final round is a visit to the fantastic course at Parkstone Golf Club, one of the premier golfing venues in Dorset that has been ranked inside the top 100 courses in Britain by both Golf Monthly and Golf World Magazines, boasting mature heathland surroundings filled with lakes, mature pines and a wide variety of wildlife, alongside stunning views over Poole Harder and out towards the Isle of Purbeck.

All of our golf breaks are built bespoke to our client’s needs. Parkdean golf breaks are available in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 and 14 night packages.

Course overview

Lying at the heart of a special site of scientific interest, Dorset Golf & Country Club affords golfers a certain air of tranquility as you twist and turn through the forest.

The resort boasts 27 holes of championship golf that includes a mix of Parkland, Lakeland, and Woodland layouts, all designed by legendary designer Martin Hawtree, who regularly consults on Open courses for the R&A.

The Lakeland & Parkland are the longest of the 3 9 hole loops and feature water on no less than half of the holes. The Woodland 9 are a little shorter but twists through the Rhododendron Forest, offering a beautiful and unique experience, looking particularly special in May & June.

The courses are renowned for their fantastic drainage. It is often said that the courses play with target golf conditions in the winter and bare their teeth with a links-style feel in the summer months.

The courses have 4 sets of tees with the longest combination measuring out at over 7,000 yards, making it one of the longest courses in Dorset. Since its opening in 1991, the course has had many claims to fame, including having Justin Rose as the course record holder briefly after a memorable 69.

Ranked inside the top 150 courses in England, if you are looking for something a little unique, whether a day visit or full stay & play golf break, The Dorset Golf Resort is well worth a look!

Course overview

Parkstone Golf Club is one of Dorset’s premier Heathland courses and makes up 1 of Bournemouth’s “big 3” courses, alongside Ferndown and Broadstone. The course has been ranked inside the top 100 courses in Britain by both Golf Monthly and Golf World Magazines, boasting mature heathland surroundings filled with lakes, mature pines and a wide variety of wildlife, alongside stunning views over Poole Harder and out towards the Isle of Purbeck.

Parkstone Golf Club is a delightful course located on a beautiful sandy tract of undulating Heathland, many of the fairways are lined with old pines and heather which become even more beautiful in springtime when the rhododendrons bloom, and the greens are immaculately kept and tricky to read. The location of the course means that it enjoys all the characteristics of Heathland golf with links influences from its seaside location, and when these are combined it creates a unique golfing experience that you wont easily forget.

The golf at Parkstone is more than just the serene surroundings, it poses a varied challenge that uses all the natural contours, heather and pines to create a course that requires accurate shots and tactical approaches, as is the case with any course that has a James Braid influence. Although the course measures quite short at 6,300 yards it is sufficiently challenging for golfers of all levels and everyone that visits Parkstone walks away with incredible memories.

If you are looking for a unique and tranquil golfing break in the wonderful Dorset countryside, look no further than Parkstone Golf Club!

Managing a group can be a thankless task and changes to the group leading up to your break are an accepted element. We make changes as stress free as possible (just see our reviews for evidence of this!). Changes can be made up to 6 weeks prior to your break. Some changes are unavoidable so for legitimate reasons we will endeavour to make last minute changes after this period, but as we would have paid our venues at this point, this would be at the discretion of the venue(s) you are visiting.

  • How are package prices displayed on our website?

Prices on our our website are displayed in two ways. The first is on our Resort pages where pricing tables show the from prices for low, mid and high season golf stay and play package rates at golf resort venues.

The second is on our example tour package pages. There are often 4 prices shown here, two for low season and two for high season. The struck through price typically shows the highest price the tour can be and is often active over weekends in that season. The offer price is typically a mid week price.

Every tour quote we offer is bespoke and will vary based on a number of factors including the date, availability, group size, room type, time of day for the tee time, etc… Our package pricing is a guide to the cost of the package and is not a firm price. Please enquire for an exact cost.

We aim to provide as accurate a price as possible and therefore try to avoid using shoulder/mid season pricing or twilight green fee rates when displaying rates. You may find an intermediate price for breaks in months of April & October at certain venues.
