The Taunton Central Tour takes you into south Somerset, staying in the Anglo-Saxon town of Taunton and playing three of the regions best parkland courses. The base for this tour has golfers staying at the Great Western Hotel, a comfortable and welcoming hotel that is ideally located in the centre of Taunton, right on the gateway to the South West and offers town centre convenience while being only a short drive from the stunning Dartmoor National Park, Blackdown Hills and Quantock Hills. Golf is played at 3 specially selected parkland courses, first of these is Enmore Park Golf Club, a fabulous championship golf course that is a hidden gem of the South West. Set within the lower slopes of the glorious Quantock Hills, the course consists of two loops of nine that start and finish at the clubhouse and at par 71 on 6,434 yards for men and 5,683 yards par 73 for ladies, the course offers a challenging test to all standards of golfer and is immensely entertaining. Next course on the tour is Oake Manor Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland course set in the beautiful surroundings of the Quantock, Brendon and Blackdown Hills. This 6149 yard course offers stunning rural views and challenges golfers with a variety of holes and no less than 10 holes featuring a water hazard. A final round is played at Taunton’s own course, Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club, an 18-hole par 69 set in the beautiful surroundings of the Blackdown Hills, the course itself is set in wonderful surroundings upon Pickeridge hills and is just a short drive from Taunton. Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club is a 6109-yard par 69 parkland course that offers a challenging test that rewards the brave.
