“There is no better place” – Reg Whitcombe 1938 Open Champion
Parkstone Golf Club is one of Dorset’s premier Heathland courses and makes up 1 of Bournemouth’s “big 3” courses, alongside Ferndown and Broadstone. The course has been ranked inside the top 100 courses in Britain by both Golf Monthly and Golf World Magazines, boasting mature heathland surroundings filled with lakes, mature pines and a wide variety of wildlife, alongside stunning views over Poole Harder and out towards the Isle of Purbeck.
Parkstone Golf Club is a delightful course located on a beautiful sandy tract of undulating Heathland, many of the fairways are lined with old pines and heather which become even more beautiful in springtime when the rhododendrons bloom, and the greens are immaculately kept and tricky to read. The location of the course means that it enjoys all the characteristics of Heathland golf with links influences from its seaside location, and when these are combined it creates a unique golfing experience that you wont easily forget.
The golf at Parkstone is more than just the serene surroundings, it poses a varied challenge that uses all the natural contours, heather and pines to create a course that requires accurate shots and tactical approaches, as is the case with any course that has a James Braid influence. Although the course measures quite short at 6,300 yards it is sufficiently challenging for golfers of all levels and everyone that visits Parkstone walks away with incredible memories.
If you are looking for a unique and tranquil golfing break in the wonderful Dorset countryside, look no further than Parkstone Golf Club!
