The Webbington Triangle Tour (Webbington Hotel | Burnham | Weston-super-mare | Worlebury)
The Webbington Triangle Tour sees golfers stay at the Webbington Hotel & Spa, a peacefully located hotel that was originally an Edwardian Manor house, offering a warm welcome and lots of character. On the tour golfers will visit three fantastic South West courses at Burnham & Berrow, Weston-super-mare and Worlebury.
The Webbington Triangle Tour is a 2 night 3 round break that takes you to the Somerset town of Luxton, nestled within the beautiful Mendip Hills AONB and only a short drive from the seaside town of Weston-super-mare. The Webbington Hotel & Spa is one of the most idyllic hotels in all of the south west, ideally situated in peaceful and beautiful countryside south of Bristol.
Set inside an attractive Edwardian manor, the house and surrounding grounds are immaculately kept and have been developed to create a peaceful and spacious environment for a relaxing getaway. Rooms are modernly designed with all the comforts and amenities required to make your stay as comfortable as possible, including free Wi-FI, complimentary toiletries and a flat screen TV.The tour takes in three excellent courses, first of these is Burnham & Berrow, part of the Atlantic links network, Burnham houses 27 holes of golf across the par 71 (6925 yard) Championship course and 9 hole, 18 tee Channel Course. This traditional links tracks 9 holes along the coastline and 9 back to the clubhouse. The wind is more than capable of swirling on the links meaning no two rounds are ever the same at this breath taking course.
A second round sees you visit the famous seaside town of Weston-super-mare, the course is an attractive links course situated at the southern end of Weston Bay, with superb views across the Bristol Channel, past Brean Down, Steep Holm and Flat Holm towards Cardiff. The course is an easy walk, with generous fairways and the wind often playing a decisive role in making a good score. The overall impression when playing the course is of wide horizons and masses of sky. In summer the greens are fast and true; the fairways tight and the rough punishing. In winter the course is rarely closed and is always played off real tees. Temporary greens are used occasionally when hard frosts prevail.
The final course to visit is Worlebury Golf Club, sitting above Worlebury Hill, the course offers fantastic views over the Bristol Channel towards Cardiff, Newport and the South Wales coast. While to the south you can see both the Mendip and Blackdown Hills. The course takes you through a number of stone walled and tree lines fields, while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The course has a great mix of holes, providing a challenge for golfers of all levels, and good course management will be required to post a respectable score.
