Marriott St Pierre is a fantastic and leading UK stay & play resort. The 4 star hotel is set within a beautiful and historic 14th century manor house located in the Welsh town of Chepstow. The hotel is surrounded by 400 acres of stunning parkland, with the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean on the doorstep. You are welcomed to St Pierre Marriott Hotel by a 16th century gatehouse that leads you through the golf course to the Manor House. The hotel has comfortable and relaxing rooms, many with views of the courtyard, lakes or the golf courses.

St Pierre offers golf break parties the opportunity to play one of the UK’s premier golf courses in the Old Course. The championship course is a par-72 that stretches just over 7000 yards and has hosted the Solheim Cup among many other European tournaments.

This course is a real challenge built around an 11-acre lake lined with century old trees. The round concludes on the long par 3 18th. The hole is played over a lake, to a tight green, protected by bunkers and in full view of the clubhouse. Good luck! Alternatively there is the Mathern, a much shorter 18-hole course that runs only 5700 yards and offers picturesque views and artful water features.

There are two on-site restaurants, the Cast Iron Bar & Grill offering British cuisine and carefully crafted cocktails. For a more formal dining experience Morgan’s Restaurant offers delicious, locally inspired dishes. In the hotels spa you can relax with a number of massage and beauty treatments, or take a dip in the indoor pool.

Course overview

The Old Course at St Pierre is one of those courses that ticks so many boxes, it is no wonder it is usually on the list for groups planning their next golf break.

The course is one of the most decorated in Wales, having played host to events such as the Curtis Cup, Solheim Cup and British Masters on no less than eight occasions. Winners around this course include huge names of the game including Ian Woosnam, Greg Normal, Bernhard Langer and Tony Jacklin.

As the premier course at the resort, the course is kept in immaculate condition year round. Playing the Old Course is an experience both on and off the course. Be it the warm welcome from the starter, to the old oaks lining the fairways or the facilities and hospitality on site at St Pierre.

The course is certainly no pushover and steady golf will be required for a good score. Valleys, doglegs, water and tree lined fairways feature throughout the 18 holes ensuring each hole is a unique and challenging experience for golfers of all standards.

Course overview

Alongside the championship Old Course at the Marriott St Pierre Golf & Country Club is it’s sister course The Mathern, an 18-hole course with a par of 68 that poses golfers with an extremely challenging course despite it’s relative shortness at only 5,730 yards. Redesigned in 2008, The Mathern course winds it’s way through mature woodland and numerous bodies of water, using these natural features to create wonderfully shaped fairways and dangerous water features throughout, all while being treated to a serene and picturesque experience as you walk the course. The Mathern perfectly compliments it’s longer and more challenging championship sister course, it’s shorter length is ideal for an early morning game or an end of the day wind down, while still challenging every aspect of your golfing game. We highly recommend that you include a round on this fantastic course if you and your group are considering a stay & play visit to the Marriott St Pierre.

  • Can we make changes to our break?

Managing a group can be a thankless task and changes to the group leading up to your break are an accepted element. We make changes as stress free as possible (just see our reviews for evidence of this!). Changes can be made up to 6 weeks prior to your break. Some changes are unavoidable so for legitimate reasons we will endeavour to make last minute changes after this period, but as we would have paid our venues at this point, this would be at the discretion of the venue(s) you are visiting.

  • How are package prices displayed on our website?

Prices on our our website are displayed in two ways. The first is on our Resort pages where pricing tables show the from prices for low, mid and high season golf stay and play package rates at golf resort venues.

The second is on our example tour package pages. There are often 4 prices shown here, two for low season and two for high season. The struck through price typically shows the highest price the tour can be and is often active over weekends in that season. The offer price is typically a mid week price.

Every tour quote we offer is bespoke and will vary based on a number of factors including the date, availability, group size, room type, time of day for the tee time, etc… Our package pricing is a guide to the cost of the package and is not a firm price. Please enquire for an exact cost.

We aim to provide as accurate a price as possible and therefore try to avoid using shoulder/mid season pricing or twilight green fee rates when displaying rates. You may find an intermediate price for breaks in months of April & October at certain venues.
