Set within the regal town of Sutton Coldfield, The Belfry Hotel & Golf Resort is a name which stands as a beacon in the modern history of golf.

It is perhaps no surprise that The Belfry is one of the UK’s top golf break destinations. Having hosted the Ryder Cup on four separate occasions (1985, 1989, 1993, 2002), more than any other venue globally, it is rightfully known as the “spiritual home” of the Ryder Cup. It draws visitors from across World looking to recreate Seve driving the 10th or Christy O’Connor’s famous 2 iron into the last!

This prestigious resort is home to three exceptional golf courses, with the venerable Brabazon leading the charge. Famed for providing some of golf’s most unforgettable moments, The Brabazon is complemented by its siblings – the PGA National and The Derby – each offering its own unique challenge and character, ensuring a rich and varied golfing experience.

The original course, The Brabazon, was designed by Dave Thomas and Peter Alliss and opened for play in 1970. Since then the 7,200 yard Par-72 has become one of the most famous courses on the planet. The parkland course is designed to challenge golfers of every level, is immaculately maintained and has drainage that allows it to be playable at any time of the year. The Brabazon’s younger sibling, The PGA, is a championship course that opened in 1997, runs at just over 7,000 yards and provides another spectacular golfing experience.

If these two stunning courses were not enough, a third course, The Derby is a quick draining course that perfectly complements the two championship courses and offers a different and less strenuous golfing experience, and perhaps a welcome one at that after tackling the Brabazon and PGA.

Outside of the golf, The Belfry Hotel & Resort offers state of the art spa facilities, 6 restaurants/bars and a 300 room hotel at a top end 4* level.

Do not let the number of rooms kid you. The Belfry is one of the most popular golf resorts in the World and advance booking at least 6 months in advance for summer/autumn weekend dates is strongly advised.       Check-in is from 3pm and check out is by 11am. If your rounds of golf clash with these times, you will need to check in after or check out before.
