Course Overview
More often than not when a venue has two courses the second course is considered to be a poor cousin of the feature course, at The Vale Resort however that is not the case, as the aptly named Lakes course is a fantastic addition to the feature National Course. Established in 1998 and designed by Peter Johnson, this 18-hole Parkland has itself played host to several PGA and challenge tour events and is uniquely built around a 20-acre lake that comes into play on no less than 12 of the 18 holes. Despite its comparably short length, the Lakes course is still considered by many to be a great challenge to golfers of all levels, and contains many memorable holes such as the 12th, a short par-4 with a beautiful island green, surrounded by a lake that has swallowed its fair share of balls. A unique aspect of the Lakes course is the number of times you have the opportunity for a risk-reward shot over water, creating many opportunities for hero plays. If you are visiting The Vale Resort we highly recommend you make time to experience this stunning and unique course.
