Favourite Cornish Course: St Mellion (Nicklaus)
Whilst I do enjoy links golf, I’ve grown up on parkland courses. Perhaps this is why St Mellion remains one of my favourite ever courses. The typical Nicklaus layout demands a golfers brain to navigate the strategically placed hazards and the condition is always up to the standard you’d expect from a European tour venue. St Mellion also has one of my favourite finishing holes, the hotel situated on the left of the fairway as you play your approach makes it feel like a grand stand towering above you. The approach has got to be spot on with the pond awaiting any wayward effort on the left of the green! Off of the golf course, having stayed and eaten at the hotel, I must say the food was some of the best I’ve ever had!
The par 3 11th hole at St Mellion is the signature hole and was inspired by Augusta

In other news, we recently part of Charity Day at Wells Golf Club. We held a long-drive on the 13th tee and with the help of everyone that came along, raised over £2000 for Kidneys for Life! Thank you to everyone at Wells for hosting the event, Charlie Lewis for organising and to all the participants who showed up. Here are a few pictures from the day.
