The first week of March 2016 has been full of golfing highlights… Crowds at Tiger Woods’ new par 3 course were stunned by an 11 year old’s tee shot, Paul Casey’s caddy was ready to drive away in a brand new Cadillac, then found out he couldn’t (the reaction is priceless) and the golf tourism market was taken by storm!
OK, so we may be exaggerating slightly here but Golf South West has finally launched! An idea that was first concocted back in 2014 has finally come to fruition and will provide golfers with a unique in site into the county of Cornwall and the plethora of golfing delights it has to offer.
It is regularly noted how stunning Cornwall can be, but not enough golfers seem to appreciate this fact. Add in the incredible value for money when compared with the Southport, Kent or Scottish coastlines and it is hard to imagine why golf in Cornwall has not had this kind of exposure in the past.
Just take a look at what we are working with here. St Enodoc (UK 37th best course) is regularly ranked inside the top 100 courses in the World, Trevose the top 100 in the UK (57th at last check) and St Mellion (UK 66th best course) has hosted 12 European Tour events! I may provide a biased opinion here but I believe if these courses are relocated to any of the afore mentioned, prominent locations you could see £200+ green fees and rankings far superior to those stated here.
If this website provides you and your golfing buddies to at least consider Cornwall as your next destination for your golf break then I am content that we are completing the task we set out on back in 2014.
